About this issue
We live in times which try us. War, genocide, elections, global warming, the rise of the ultra-right, and more. In these times it is easy to despair. In Rungh, we choose to continue with our work. The labour of creating is healing and regenerative, if not a panacea for what ails us.
Amyn Sajoo, in his timely multi-book review, asks if Fear is the Key. Phinder Dulai traces Exit Wounds in his review of Tāriq Malik’s new book of poetry. Sonali Menezes sits with a cup of tea and reflects on Farheen Haq’s exhibition, i am my mother’s daughter. Ashley Marshall does double duty with two reviews – one of Fantastic Negrito’s performance and a second of artist Aaron Jones’ exhibition Fountain of Dreams.
David Garneau, a Rungh Columnist, asks questions about what is Indigenous Public Art, while M.G. Vassanji uneasily confesses about syncretic histories.
At Rungh, we accept confessions.
