Amyn Sajoo

Dr. Amyn Sajoo is Scholar-in-Residence at SFU’s Centre for Comparative Muslim Studies. He was the 2010 Visiting Scholar in the Middle East for Global Affairs Canada. Dr. Sajoo has hosted a public conversation series on Identity, Religion and Citizenship since 2018. He was earlier affiliated with Cambridge and McGill universities, the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies in Singapore, and the Institute of Ismaili Studies in London. He is contributing editor of the Muslim Heritage Series (I.B. Tauris-IIS, London), in which the 5th publication, The Shari’a: History, Ethics and Law, was selected as a 2019 Choice Outstanding Academic Title by the American Library Association. Dr. Sajoo has also contributed extensively to the newsmedia, including the The Guardian, BBC World Service, The Globe & Mail, CBC Radio.
